A few minutes away from the “Nice Cote d’Azur” airport of Nice, theHotel Anis is located on the slopes of a hill from where it is easy to reach the beaches; only a few kilometers separates you from the fascinating downtown where you will be captivated by the friendly vitality of the older part of Nice amongst bistrot, nightclubs and restaurants. If you’re in these parts of the city during the day make sure to take a walk on Cours Saleya, where the flower market is held and typical Riviera products are sold.
Nice is a city rich in history and culture, its museums are dedicated to great artists such as Matisse, in the beautiful Cimiez neighborhood, and Chagall. Contemporary art is held in the halls of the splendid Museé d’Art Moderne et Contemporain (MAMAC) and the works of Monet are a must see at the Museé des Beaux-Arts; the pink castle that holds the Museé International d’Art Naif and the Musée d’Art Asiatique is also very interesting. It is located inside the Parc Phoenix which is close to the hotel.
Nice’s scenery as seen from Parc Chateau is unforgettable. Its garden is a shaded and peaceful area and visitors may reach the gardens with an elevator. Once there enjoy a good cup of coffee whilst admiring the waterfalls and the remains of the Savoia castle: ideal for a moment of exclusive relaxation. The port with all its restaurants and typical osterias is located at the foot of the hill, towards east, in the Limpya neighborhood.
Walking along the Promenade des Anglais is one of the most characteristic moments of a stay in Nice. Symbol of the Belle Epoque , this large promenade extends for a few kilometers along the coastline and has age-old villas and prestigious hotels (like the famous Hotel Negresco, today classified as a historic monument). The setting sun will give you an unforgettable view of the Baia degli Angeli (Bay of Angels).
Nice is a sunny city and full of life, its carnival is famous worldwide and the celebrations held in June dedicated to Saints Peter and John attract many people in search of music, traditional food and shows. On the hills of Cimiez, in the olive grove of the Roman amphitheater, the prestigious Festival Jazz Internazionale, held for the first time in 1948, offers its audience the best international interpretations. During the month of May, in the nearby Cannes the famous cinema festival is held: an occasion to catch a glimpse of mundane lifestyles or simple curiosity will attract you along the irresistible Promenade de la Croisette. During the same period, the Formula 1 Gran Prix is held on the streets of splendid Montecarlo, in the Principality of Monaco.
How to reach us
By plane.
The Nice-Cote d’Azure airport is only 5 minutes by car from Hotel Anis. You may reach Hotel Anis by taking the Sunbus bus service that leaves from terminal 1; in twenty minutes the 23/Saint Maurice line will take you to the “Avenue de la Californie” bus-stop (right in front of the “Champion” supermarket). Once off the bus walk for about 5 minutes on avenue de la Lanterne where at n. 50 you will find Hotel Anis. If you wish to rent a car follow the indications in the “By car” section, departing from the airport. A taxi service which costs about Euro 15/20 is also available.
By car.
On highway A8 exit at NICE/PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS. Drive along Nice’s airport keeping to your right. At the first traffic light of Promenade des Anglais, take the indication for Nice West (Nice Ouest), crossing la Promenade des Anglais to get onto Avenue du Dr. Roux (on the corner there is a “Casino” supermarket). At the end of Avenue du Dr. Roux, turn right onto Avenue St. Augustin; at the first traffic light, turn left onto Avenue de la Lanterne. Passing under the bridge, go up Avenue de la Lanterne for 800 meters and you will find Hotel Anis on your right.
By train.
Take the Sunbus bus line, in twenty minutes line 23/Saint Maurice and line 12 will take you to the “Avenue de la Californie” bus-stop (right in front of the “Champion” supermarket). Once off the bus walk for 5 minutes on avenue de la Lanterne where at n. 50 you will find Hotel Anis. A taxi service is also available.
